Cafe Mogador Alphabet City (Dining) 101 St. Mark's Place (8th Street) (212) 677-2226 www.cafemogador.com
The brunch specials include fresh squeezed juice and cappucino. The middle-eastern bruch options are delicious--especially the eggs with halumi cheese. The outdoor seating is fantastic.
Caracas Bar Alphabet City (Dining) 91 7th Street (212) 529-2314 http://www.caracasarepabar.com/index.html
Fresh tropical fruit drinks and arepas (the Venezuelan version of a tortilla) make this a village favorite. The coconut shake is to die for, and this is the best cafe con leche around.
Esperanto Alphabet City (Dining) 149 Avenue C (212) 505-6559 http://www.esperantony.com/
A great reason to venture to Avenue C for Sunday brunch -- live brazilian music. The big weeping willow trees across the street add to the atmosphere. Food is okay. Brunch special includes alcohol!

A variety of options of hummus. yummy pickled vegetables. Middle Eastern specialties.
Itzocan Cafe Alphabet City (Dining) 438 9th Street (212) 677-5856
Very delicious Mexican food. Tiny little place, very well decorated. Best burrito on the East Coast (according to my very picky West Coast boyfriend).
Yuca Bar and Restaurant Alphabet City (Dining) 111 Avenue A (212) 982-9533 http://www.yucabarnyc.com/
Hard to get a seat outside at this popular restaurant. Great people watching spot on the corner of Tompkins Square Park.
